The Main Hall featured five tiers of cast-iron alcoves that housed over 200,000 books. |
These images are of the Old Building of the original Cincinnati and Hamilton country Library. In 1874 the Public library of Cincinnati moved into the small building originally meant to be an opera house, Sadly by the 1950's the library outgrew the building and it was knocked down. So sad.... espcially when you look at its grim replacement....
